Cancellation of Removal
A defense to deportation available to certain LPRs and long-term undocumented residents.
Cancellation of removal lets eligible LPRs avoid removal if they meet residency and good-moral-character requirements. A separate form of cancellation exists for non-LPRs who can show 10 years of continuous physical presence and exceptional and extremely unusual hardship to a U.S. citizen or LPR family member.
