Humanitarian Parole
Discretionary permission to enter the U.S. for urgent humanitarian reasons.
Humanitarian parole is filed on Form I-131 and is granted on a case-by-case basis for compelling humanitarian or significant public benefit reasons. It is temporary and does not lead directly to a green card, though some parolees later qualify for asylum or other relief.
