Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility.
I-601 is filed to waive most inadmissibility grounds — including unlawful presence, certain crimes, fraud — when the applicant can show extreme hardship to a qualifying U.S. citizen or LPR relative. It is filed with the immigrant visa application.
