Definition
Visa Waiver Program
Also: VWP
A program letting nationals of designated countries enter the U.S. for tourism or business without a visa.
VWP is administered by DHS and currently includes about 40 countries. Travelers must obtain ESTA approval, may stay up to 90 days, and waive most rights to contest removal — making the program very restrictive in some ways.
