Withholding of Removal

Protection from deportation for people who face persecution in their home country.

Withholding under INA §241(b)(3) is similar to asylum but harder to win (requires showing it is more likely than not the person will be persecuted). Unlike asylum, it does not lead to a green card — it only blocks deportation to the specific country of feared persecution.
