Applying for a green card from inside the United States without leaving the country.
Adjustment of Status is the process of becoming a lawful permanent resident while physically in the U.S. It is filed on Form I-485. You must be eligible under INA §245 — typically meaning you entered legally, are the beneficiary of an approved immigrant petition, and an immigrant visa is immediately available under the Visa Bulletin.
