NVC

National Visa Center — the DOS unit that processes approved immigrant petitions before consular interviews.

After USCIS approves an I-130 or I-140 for consular processing, the case moves to the NVC in Portsmouth, NH. NVC collects fees, civil documents, and Form DS-260, then schedules the interview at the appropriate U.S. embassy or consulate.
