Temporary protection from deportation for nationals of designated unsafe countries.
TPS is a temporary immigration status granted to nationals of countries designated by the Secretary of Homeland Security due to ongoing armed conflict, environmental disaster, or extraordinary conditions. TPS holders may receive employment authorization but TPS itself is not a path to a green card.
