Definition
Visa Stamp
A travel document placed in a passport by a U.S. consulate authorizing travel to a U.S. port of entry.
The visa stamp is issued abroad and only authorizes the holder to apply for admission at a U.S. port of entry — it does not by itself confer status. Status begins at admission and is governed by the I-94.
